Yesterday, after the votes were counted, the blobfish was deemed the world’s ugliest animal.
The Company is looking for a mascot, an ugly mascot, a champion for all animals whose attractive faces support them less than their cute and cuddly brother.
But even though the cause may be serious, we think the world was too harsh for our friend the blobfish (or, if you want to call it by its proper name – and really, it would prefer that you did! – Psychrolutes marcidus)
Hopefully we think that falling blobfish up there is holding up well, considering all that it’s babbling.
Mapy fish have what is called a swim bladder, air sacs in their bodies that help them move and stay buoyant.

The bƖobfish does not have a swim bladder, so its stomach must remain inside its body.
